THE S.C.E.D.A PROCESS

S.C.E.D.A is our production process, employed on every single project. What does it stand for?

Study. Communicate. Execute. Deliver. Archive.

STUDY

When we get a brief, we make sure we understand where the client is coming from, by studying what their company/brand stands for, as well as how we can best help Forge Their Story on screen.

We also take note of their target audience and how we can best reach them. Although we primarily produce for Broadcast/Streaming, we do understand the importance of social media and the role it plays in building a brand’s audience.

COMMUNICATE

Communication is one of the key things we prioritise at Foundry ‘96 throughout the entire production process. In pre-production, we run through the brief with the client, running through any ideas we have had internally, as well as any idea the client may have.

Throughout production, we have clear communications between ourselves and the client. We appreciate that clients aren’t always able to join us on site, so the option for remote viewing and direction is always available, (though this does depend on location and signal/internet access).

During post production, the Foundry ‘96 team will be in contact with the client throughout the process, making sure that; music, dialogue, colours, fonts, graphics and cuts are all to the client’s liking. This is key to making sure that the final deliverables fit , if not exceed the brief.

EXECUTE

Once we have a set brief, shot-list and shoot plan in place, we execute production. This is where the Foundry ‘96 team works to capture every part of the project as efficiently as possible.

During production we have a very strict NO PHONE policy, meaning that all of our teams focus is on your project at all times. This policy really helps with creating the best work possible as it reduces distractions and ensures our crew and client’s safety.

For all of our productions we work with trusted crew and suppliers to make sure that we have the best people for every project.

DELIVER

Delivery marks the ending of a project.

During pre-production we will discuss how the client want to receive their files, there a multiple ways we can deliver; physical drives, online portal, Dropbox and LTO.

Foundry ‘96 understand that every client needs their files in various formats and we make that process as simple as possible.

ARCHIVE
Archiving is the most important part of production, we use a 3-2-1 system to ensure client files are sufficiently backed-up. However, we also work with data recovery companies should the worst case scenario occur.

The 3-2-1 system is as follows; There are 3 separate copies of client files, 2 of those copies are on separate media (SSD & NAS system) and the final copy is off-site in the form of LTO tape, this is stored with a trusted archiving vendor.

Additional copies of file are made available for all clients upon request.

THE S.C.E.D.A PROCESS

While it’s not the perfect system, it is the system we designed to give all of our clients the best experience possible. We know there are other processes out there, but for us S.C.E.D.A is the one that works best.
